We often see all kinds of patterns and Numbers on plastic pieces, and these Numbers are different. How to carve these Numbers and patterns on these molds, we have these kinds of common methods.
The first is directly through the engraving machine engraved on the mold. This is usually used when the font or pattern is large. Usually the resulting font has a knife cut on the surface and needs to be polished.
In the normal small – and medium-sized mold, laser lettering is the most common. The laser leaves a mark on the mold. This is often called etching. This kind of way advantage is the speed is faster, can be done immediately, but the disadvantage is also very obvious, this kind of left trace is shallower.
The last is the EDM after electrode carving. It is to take a piece of electrode in the place to process the font first, and then to this electrode for carving processing, after processing to get the electrical pulse place for discharge processing, after the completion of the font will be left on the surface of the mold.
These three ways are the common way to leave the font on the mold.
